Kaspersky Lab Launches Own QR Scanner


The Russian anti-virus company has an app launched that allows mobile users to read QR codes. QR codes appear in more and more places and allow smartphone users to easily learn more about locations and products retrieval. Scanning the QR code is sufficient. However, the user can not see in advance where the QR code refers to.

In the past it has been warned more common malicious QR codes that were used by cybercriminals to malware and Viagra spam to spread. The QR scanner Kaspersky scan the QR code and then checks whether the specified URL is safe. In case it comes to getting a malicious link users to a warning. The app is available for Apple iOS and Google Android
