PGP Keys Whistleblower Site Cryptome Compromised


The whistleblower site Cryptome who has been all kinds of sensitive documents and information publishes visitors has warned that PGP keys from both the website and founder John Young have been compromised. The PGP keys are used to communicate encrypted.

How the keys jya@pipeline.com and cryptome@earthlink.net could be compromised is not listed. Meanwhile, the corresponding keys are canceled and there are newly issued. It is not the first time that Cryptome to do with an attack gets.Two years ago, both the website and the Twitter account of Young hacked and in 2012 knew attackers malware to be placed on the website.
